Perimeter camera coverage

Perimeter Surveillance Upgrades: Coming Soon (awaiting Virginia DCJS licensure)

Camera work is not part of any job booked here right now. The Virginia DCJS Electronic Security Business certification is in progress; this notice changes the day it is issued.

No video feeds are offered or installed today.

All work is low-voltage (under 50 V DC). No line-voltage electrical work is performed.

What can be booked today

The groundwork, which is most of the job and all of the digging: the post set where the angle actually works, shielded direct-burial Cat6 run from the house in conduit, a weatherproof enclosure at the position, 12 V DC through a PoE splitter and a LiFePO4 battery buffer so the position rides out a short outage.

That groundwork is a job in its own right. It is also what turns the later visit into a short one.

What is pending

Mounting, aiming and commissioning the equipment itself waits on Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Electronic Security Business certification. That certification is in progress and is not held today, so none of it is part of any job booked here, and no price on this site covers it.

This page changes the day the certificate is issued, with the licence number and its effective date printed on it. Until then this notice is the honest answer, and we would rather say so than take a deposit for something outside our scope.

Start now anyway

The Perimeter Upgrade Calculator asks about the position first: how far it is from the router, whether the run clears 328 ft, whether the power budget closes. Those answers do not change later.
